2015-Onward And Upward
2014 was a terrific year for our team. We had the opportunity to come together and form our team, and set a goal in mind that we have worked hard to achieve. We introduced another person to the wonderful country of Haiti, and could see the fire in her eyes, as the love for this area settled in her heart. We welcomed new family and friends into our circle of caring. And we started our push towards our travels in this new year.
As an organization, we have definitely achieved some goals. Being awarded our 501(c)(3) was major, as it would allow us to benefit from donations while allowing others to receive credit for those funds. It would also allow us to use more of our money towards helping others, as we were granted our tax-exempt status as well. The paperwork has been a nightmare at times, but the outcome has been so worth the struggles we have endured.
But we are not ones to rest on past accomplishments, but ones to push forward to see what we will be able to do in this new year. We know we can't change the world for everyone, but we do know that we can make a difference in the lives of others. And we are all aware that sometimes the biggest difference will be in our own lives. Knowing that, through helping others, we enlarge our hearts and open them up to caring about others, and all that can come from those actions.
So with this said, we are so ready for this new year. Our trip to Haiti in May will be like returning home, with some additional friends joining us on the journey. And we are looking forward to seeing the light shine in yet another new soul to this beautiful country which has touched so many hearts.
