The nice thing about living in this wonderful community is all the local fairs that we have around the county during the summer. And Callao holds special meaning to all members of our team, as every team member is from the Callao/New Cambria area. The younger members of our team played summer softball at the field that is located in this town. One member was in the queen contest here. One member raised her children in this small town. The memories here are very special, sometimes painful, but always a part of our past.
So this year, we were very happy to be a part of the Callao Harvest Fiesta's first ever craft fair. The weather leading up to this Saturday event was very wet, but the morning dawned bright, sunny, and clear. We arrived, was able to set up underneath a tree (so didn't have to deal with our canopy) and prepared to spend the day reflecting on our team, our past memories from here, and our future plans as a team.
Craft shows have never been a big money raiser for our team. But we do these shows more for the chance to educate people regarding our mission. To introduce people to our team that might not have heard of us (and there are a lot!) And to hopefully sell a few items. This year we consider this a huge success! We did sell an item, did a custom order, and passed out several brochures regarding our team. And we had the opportunity to speak to a local citizen in-depth regarding our team, our goals, and our mission. And as everyone knows, this is always the highlight of our day!
So to all who stopped, who asked questions, and who purchased items, we want to say a big Thank You! You are now a part of what we are attempting to do.
