March Bake Sale

When one path is blocked, you just turn a different direction. This is the story behind this bake sale. We had planned a basketball tournament, but didn't have enough teams to play. And since team member Lilias was coming in for the weekend, we decided to get together and host a bake sale. We set up the date, the location, planned what to bake, cooked and stirred and iced, and headed to bed, with visions of bright, sunny skies and warm weather. Yeah, not so much.

The sun we did have for part of the morning....until the clouds rolled in and the snow started. Oh, did we mention the winds which never ceased? Brrr.

But nothing can get us down for long, so we bundled up, gathered the tables, loaded them up and opened for business, and kinda hid behind the building for a wind break! Hey, you use what you have! And neither wind nor cold nor snow could dampen the fun we had of being together again. And a wonderful outcome? Yep. We sold out! Donations, along with sales made for a success. We talked to several about our organization, passed our brochures, talked game plans for the next few events, and enjoyed that comfortable part that is caused by the feelings we all have for each other.

To all that came out, we want to say a huge  THANK YOU! Without each and every one of you, our failures would outdistance our successes. And you are all definitely a part of our team. So please enjoy some photos of our day, and we hoped you enjoyed each and every treat that was made that day. Know the chocolate pie was great!

Cakes and cookies, oh my!
Healthy options? Yep, we had them!

Banana bread, pumpkin bread, brownies, bread.

Lilias helps a customer while Dianna waits for another customer to be ready.
Pies, pies, and more pies! And cakes too.

Peeps on a nest, with eggs.
Breakfast must be eaten before treats. Even at a bake sale.

Our cutest customer of the day, with his peep nest find.
