November Photo Shoot
One thing we were hoping for with our fundraising, was to try to do something unusual. And during our many discussions, we came upon the idea of having a photo shoot. Setting up a time schedule, collecting donations for each session, and presenting a CD to each group which had booked a session. It sounded like an idea that just might work. So we set out to make it happen.
One thing we had to do was to find the photographers. One of our team members could take photographs, but more were required. We were lucky enough to have 2 additional persons volunteer to help us with this project.
Next, we needed a venue to host the photo shoot. Considering the time of the year, it needed to be some place which could provide protection from the weather, and be a beautiful backdrop for the photos. A suggestion was made, a telephone call done, and we were privileged to be able to have the Phillips Place as our host location. This beautiful bed and breakfast features a covered front porch, an iron fence, an outside patio area, as well as some beautiful yard areas. The inside of the home features a fireplace, and two bench seats under windows, where you would want to sit with a book on a rainy day.
The day dawned clear, with some wind but warming temperatures. We had several people who came to help the photographers set the sessions. Many of the photos were able to be taken outside, the leaves making a wonderful carpet of fun. Inside photos were also taken, and the fireplace made for a lovely location. All in all, the day was a great success. We had fun, as did everyone who showed up that day.
We want to thank those that came out to help, our photographers, the Phillips House for allowing us to use their location, and especially to the people who booked sessions for our fundraiser. Without you, we could not do this. So thanks to all, and we hope to see you again at our next fundraiser.
