In everything we do, there are always reasons to stop, and reasons to continue. Which path to follow depends on many things. Maybe things didn't meet your expectations. Maybe the financial cost is too great, or causes too much hardship at home. Maybe you have pressure from others to turn a different direction. Maybe it is too hard on your heart. Or maybe you just don't understand the reasons anymore. Everyone must follow their hearts in what they do, or don't do, and live their life doing what is best for themselves.
Going to this location, or any location where poverty is so great, just isn't for everyone. Maybe what they see causes them fear that this could one day be them. Maybe they are afraid of disease, physical harm, or even death. And many know that they just are going to be hurt too much by what they see, and they don't believe that they can overcome to be able to do what they hoped to do. There is no wrong reason to no go, only right reasons to venture beyond your comfort zone and reach deep inside yourself to help others.
And sometimes, the reasons to go are based on what you left behind, what you found, or what touches your soul. These are the reasons this team return each year. For each team member, this is a very special reason, one which touches them to their very core. The following are the reasons we return, the reasons these trips touch our core, and open our heart to others.
