December Projects

December is often very hard on families. Just general problems are tough all year long. But the holidays always seem to be worse, just because circumstances can make it extremely hard to want to celebrate. And this year was no exception. Families in need, people in need, sometimes it can seem overwhelming. But everyone can do a little, and try to help a few people in need.

This year we had several projects we completed during the last month of the year. Every one of these projects touched the heart of a team member in a different way. Often, that is the kind of project we lean towards, because it is very personal. Loss, hunger, starting over....we have all suffered through. And if we can help someone else, that does help hear our souls as well.

We rarely ever list the name of the recipient of what we do. And if we do, it is with their permission. We do these donations to help those in need. We like to show what we do with the money that we receive from donations, because we believe in being transparent with our donors. But we often don't have pictures to show of what we donate, because sometimes we just need for you to believe what we say. But our books are always open for inspection, if you just can't just bring yourself to believe.

Hunger knows no season. And this year, unfortunately, was no different. So we decided to purchase some food for the food pantries. These went to the Seneca Food Pantry. We also have a donation slated for the Macon Food Pantry. Hopefully people who receive these goods will also feel the love that comes with them.

The holidays are a hard time of the year for a lot of people. Especially if you have small ones. Often, that added boost is all it takes, and allows you to know that others do care. Warm clothes are necessary this time of year. And toys, well toys always make things more fun. We hope that the ones that received these gifts know how much we are rooting for them in the future.

Often, this time of year hits hardest on those that are trying to start over. We came to know someone who was needing help starting out. Trying to put your life back together is often harder than most people think it should be. So some household items, a warm coat, and some outfits for the little ones, we hope made it a bit easier for all.

Our team joined in with others in the community to do the Elf Project, which adopts a family during the holidays. We have all been there, just enough money to pay the bills, but not anything extra to help make the season just a bit brighter.
We all hope that, during the most amazing season of the year, that you will step up and help others in need. And remember that what you do for others, you are actually being the hands of Jesus. And that is something we all should strive to do every single day.
Holidays are suppose to be a time of celebration. But this year, we learned of a family who suffered the most horrible of news one could ever receive, the death of a loved one. A parent, suddenly taken away from the family. A spouse left to pick up the slack and try to be both Mom and Dad to the kids. Children old enough to understand but not old enough to truly understand the reason for the loss.
We were honored to be able to help this family in a small way this year. Money placed on the electric bill, to help them through the winter. Some money on gift cards, to purchase food and some essentials. No matter what we do, it will not ease the pain. But hopefully they will know that others truly do care.
