Giving Back To The Community
In all we do, we have always had a firm desire to help others. Often this is in the far-away country of Haiti. Haiti definitely touches, and tears at our hearts. The need is so very great there, and we hope to be able to help continue reaching out to help them help themselves. To see the poverty that exists, in a time when so many have so much, really causes one to stop and re-evaluate what they have. And in listening to what our Heavenly Father has told us, it is the only thing that we can do.
Matthew 25:40 speaks about helping others and says, "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done unto me."
John 15:12 tells us that "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
These verses speak to us regarding the need to help others. And that also includes the people who live in our own community. Even though doing the type of work we do in Haiti is impossible here, due to government regulations, we are working on other ways to help the people in our community. We know that there are a lot of people who have a need, whether it is for extra food, for help with expenses, or even for just some time spent in being a shoulder to cry on. No help is too little, and no need is too great that God can't help.
So this is our efforts to help in our own community. We are hoping that others will see our efforts, and know that there are things that they can do as well. And by showing these pages, hopefully they will be inspired to help others as well. Pay it forward, it is indeed a good thing.
