Family Help 2016

In all we do, we try to keep at the front of our minds is our desire to help others. Sometimes it is with our mission trips. Sometimes it is with hosting events that will help someone with a need. Sometimes it is a community effort, such as the coat drive. Sometimes we work to raise our own awareness of the situation of other around us. Each time we do something, it is always in the effort to help others, directly or indirectly, with a need.

This past year, we decided to do a single family event, and to help stock a pantry of someone that could use the added boost. So we started to make inquires from friends and family, of people who might be in need of that little assistance, to get them through a rough time. Sometimes needs are obvious, sometimes not. The goal is to help, without adding to someone's pain or heartache. We never want to embarrass someone, or make their situation worse.

So we took all the information we had, and we choose a family in need. This family had no idea what we were up to, and was very surprised. This family will not be named, nor will this family have their picture displayed for others to see. See, people do have their pride and it is not for use to step on that. A help up, not a hand out, that is the way to make life better.

So the only thing that will be placed here is the story, something that we were very honored to be able to do to help a local family in our community. And as a team, we had a great time shopping for these items. The photo above shows which items we picked, based on, well, our own needs as a family. Cause we have all shopped to feed the mouths that depend upon us. We hope that this simple gesture was able to help this family. And we hope to be able to repeat, and enlarge our donations in the years to come.
